I never cease to be amazed at how gifted people can be. At first glance, this might appear to be a painting, but it’s actually threads, every bit of it! I saw it in an art gallery exhibit devoted to fiber arts. This one is called Larry, and it’s a portrait of the artist’s sewing machine repair person! She did all of this on her sewing machine, and the stitches are small and intricate. I’m particularly impressed by the sense of light bouncing off his glasses, but really, all of it is remarkable, how his skin looks real, how the tiny metal bits of the sewing machine look so real!
