HEAVEN, TEXAS by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

An oldie but a goodie…Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a perennial favorite, and though I love all her work, her Chicago Stars series is one of my faves, filled with keepers that reside on my keeper shelves and are always good for a re-read. She routinely makes me both laugh out loud and sigh. Bobby Tom Denton is a rascal we first met in It Had To Be You, but turns out that there’s a whole lot more to him than an unregenerate rake…and Gracie Snow, bad hair, old lady clothes and all, is both his comeuppance and his salvation. Their road trip while she tries to wrangle him to fulfill an obligation and he manages detours at every opportunity is a hoot all by itself. They couldn’t be more mismatched or more delightful!
